The artist statement

* I love photography as I can express sentiments I cannot say in words. The joy of discovering new sights makes me to feel the urge to capture it and share it with people. I surprise myself analyzing sights when driving, when looking through the window, whenever I go out. I'm trying to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, day-to-day places I'm passing by.
* I believe a good photograph is based on the principle (among others) "less is more". Too often people (including me) tend to include too many things in a picture.
* I've chosen the cone of light paradigm because it stands at the base of photography. Each camera captures an image from a light cone formed between the light entry point (usually the camera's first lens element) and the film plane. This cone is reversed in the second one that holds at its base the inverted image inside of a circle. From this circle cameras select a rectangular area which becomes the photograph itself. The cone exists inside the camera-lens contraption all the time but only at shutter release its light rays are captured. The resulting light cones are valuable and unique, one cannot repeat at 100% likeness afterwards. Therefore we value their uniqueness and try to preserve in time the image formed often associated with an emotion.
* The Lightcone website wants to show a series of such emotions I've experienced while trying to catch the time stream in a cone of light.
